Ducks' Pool Letterbox
This photograph dates to April 1952 and was taken by a member of the Taylor Family. It shows Ducks' Pool Letterbox - an early Dartmoor letterbox, the first being at Cranmere Pool. A Dr J W Malim of Torquay placed the letterbox canister with stamp and tablet here at Ducks' Pool in 1938. Also at Ducks' Pool is a bronze memorial tablet dedicated to the well-known Dartmoor author, William Crossing. It was erected here in 1938 by Dobson's Moormen, a group of walkers once known as the Ford Wesleyan Recreation Club.
