Tomb of John Godden, Sampford Spiney Churchyard

1915 It is unusual to find a family tomb as grand as this in a Dartmoor village churchyard. Dartmoor graves tend to be marked with simple granite headstones. The memorial to John Godden reads "in loving memory of John Godden, born 22 September 1849, died 14 February 1938"
