Piles Hill cairn

Taken in July 1941 from the cairn (in the foreground) on the summit of Piles Hill (387 metres), looking northwards to Sharp Tor (414 metres) and the step descent on the left down to the river Erme. A cairn is an ancient burial monument, marked by a collection of stones.
