Cairn at Hangershiel rocks

Taken in November 1942 of a large cairn on Harford moor near Hangershiel rocks on the southern edge of Dartmoor. Hangershiel is also known as Hangershell. A cairn is a heap of stones, often specifically deposited to cover a burial. The monument is typical of the Bronze Age period.
