Wistman's Wood

This picture was taken in 1912 of Wistman's Wood. This is a wood of stunted oaks by the River Dart. The wood is in a lonely situation and its general appearance strange and gloomy. It is now protected as a nature reserve. In recent years it has been the subject of a dispute over access.
