Staple Tor

Taken on 18 May 1940 of Staple Tor also known as Great Steeple Tor on the western edge of Dartmoor near Tavistock. There are three parts to Staple Tors - Little, Mid and Great. Great Staple Tor in this picture is famous for its towers or steeples of granite blocks that perch on each other creating unusual shapes. The Staple Tors together with Roos Tor form a chain of tors that flank the west side of the Walkham valley.
