Mr Jankins by the cross in Fox Tor Mire
Dated 1913, this photograph was taken only 10 years after the re-erection of this cross by Lt Goldsmith RN, who found the empty socket hole and later the broken cross lying nearby in the heather. The cross, now known as Goldsmith's Cross, probably marked the so-called Monks' Path from Buckfast to Tavistock. (See http://www.dartmoor-crosses.org.uk/goldsmith's.htm)
