Hawks Tor Dolmen
28/08/1936 Hawks Tor is known locally as "Oxter tor" stands on Shaugh moor. Unusually formed, joints in the granite have formed an aperture resembling a chamber. The large slab forming the roof has at one time been artifically raised upon a boulder, possibly to form a shelter. Shirley, a younger member of the Taylor family is stood on top of the tor.
