Main door, Brent tor church

This picture was taken in 1913 of the north aspect, main door of Brentor church. The church was originally built in the 12th cenutry, rebuilt in the 13th century with the tower added in the 15th century. It was restored in 1890 but it still essentially a Norman church. The church is dedicated to St. Michael de Rupe, which means "of the Rock". Brentor is an extinct volcanic cone, not granite and the church is built of this volcanic stone.
