The Lychgate at Sheepstor Church

This lychgate at Sheepstor church is the traditional place where a coffin would rest before entering the church and graveyard. The central stone and the double entrance would allow the pallbearers to pass through the gate and on into the churchyard. There is a mantel of oak over the entrance.
