Hawkes Tor
28/08/1936 Hawks Tor is known locally as "Oxter tor" stands on Shaugh moor. Unusually formed, joints in the granite have formed an aperture resembling a chamber. The large slab forming the roof has at one time been artifically raised upon a boulder, possibly to form a shelter.
