Ugborough Church
Taken in September 1945 of the south door to the chancel of Ugborough church. Ugborough is a large compact village, and is built around a large open square, with the church on an eminence at the S. end. The church (St. Peter) is said to stand inside an earlier earthwork, and is approached by a flight of steps. It is a building of early 14th to early 16th century in date, of great length (131 ft.), with a fine W. tower (94 ft.). The church was dedicated in 1323 and the tower was completed in the early 16th century.
