Boer War memorial, PLymouth Hoe
Boer War memorial, Plymouth Hoe. Its erection in 1902 was funded by Alfred Mosely, a South African
merchant of West Country descent. It commemorates the men of Devon, Somerset and Gloucestershire
regiments who were killed in the Boer War. It includes a plaque dedicated to Prince Christian
Victor of Schleswig-Holstein, who served with the 60th King's Own Rifles and died in South Africa.
