Station Cottage, Mary Tavy

Station Cottage, Mary Tavy

Mary Tavy was the first platform on the line north out of Tavistock en route to Launceston. The signal box and crossing line were taken out of use in 1892 when another line was opened. The station was finally put out of use in 1948. The station cottage is still in use as a home today though with some extensions and alterations. It has been discovered that this photo actually shows Station House and Railway Cottage in Mary Tavy.
