Fitzford Church and view of Tavistock
Taken on 15/04/1905. The two main features shown here are Fitzford church, St Mary Magdalene and the town gas works on the left. The church combines Romanesque and Transitional Gothic with a campanile-like tower. It was built in 1856-7 and in 1952 transferred from the Church of England to Roman Catholic. The gas company was founded in 1831.
