Fernworthy Reservoir and Intake during the drought of 1949

This photograph captures the drought of August 1949 and its effects on Fernworthy Reservoir. The reservoir was built to supply Torbay with water. Many droughts were experienced on Dartmoor, and Fernworthy was affected again in 1959 and 1975.
