Grenofen Viaduct and mine works

Before its demolition in 1965, with the closure of the Plymouth and Launceston railway, the Grenofen Viaduct was the only surviving Brunel timber viaduct on the line. It was said to be the finest example of its type and was 132ft (40m) high and 367 yards (335m) long. This image possibly shows the viaduct with its timber cantilevers. These were replaced by iron in 1896.
