Oxenham Arms at South Zeal

Oxenham Arms at South Zeal

The original building is thought to date from the 12th century, but was only licensed as a public house in the late 15th century. It was rebuilt in the late 16th century. It has mullion windows, and a large carriage entrance on the left, while the porch was added later. It used to serve passengers travelling on the mail coaches. The name of the Inn comes for the Oxenham family and it still functions as a public house today, very little changed from this image.
