Cholwichtown Farm Cross
This photograph was taken in 1914 of Cholwithtown Farm cross which here is being used as a gatepost. Most of each arm has been knocked off in order to adapt it to is purpose as a gatepost. It originally stood by the side of a track and was also likely to point the way to a fording place on the stream. It is 5 1/2 ft high. The shaft of the cross was moved from the farm in 1969 and was erected at the roadside by the farm entrance. It was stolen from there in 1978. Cholwichtown Farmhouse is about 1/2 mile from the cross.
