Brent,tor, church
This picture was taken in 1913 of Brentor church. This is a classic view of the church later painted by F.J. Widjery. The church was originally built in the 12th cenutry, rebuilt in the 13th century with the tower added in the 15th century. It was restored in 1890 but it still essentially a Norman church. Brentor is an extinct volcanic cone, not granite and the church is built of this volcanic stone. The church is still in use today. It is a landmark for miles around.
