Gateway to Blackslade Down

1946 04-1946 This photograph shows the good condition of the large newtake walls and Blackslade gate on Blackslade Down as they run down to the ford on Blackslade Water (also known as Ruddycleave Water) at the foot of Blackslade Mire. Marjorie Taylor, Sydney's (the photographer's )wife, is shown walking up to the gateway and boundary posts. The boundary stones describe the boundary between Blackslade and Buckland Manors.
