Dunnagoat Tor
This image was taken in May 1945 from Great Lynx or more commonly known as Great Links Tor across to the 2 rock piles of Higher and Lower Dunnagoat Tors. The name is thought to derive from 'Dun' celtic for hill and 'coed' celtic for wood. Higher Dunnagoat Tor (1,830ft) has been effected by granite cutters with the tare and feather marks left on some of the rocks, used to build nearby Bleak House. Lower Dunnagoat Tor (1,820 ft)is lower but more impressive. Great Links Tor (1,924 ft) 9586m) is a major tor with main piles of cohesive granite and compact. There is an OS triangulation point set on the highest. There are great views from this point.
