Vixen Tor

Taken in May 1937 from the south west of Vixen Tor (987ft). Worth writes about this tor "The highest rock mass on Dartmoor...It stands fifty-two feet above the ground from which it rises on the north side and ninety-three feet on the south side, where the ground is forty feet lower." The legendary witch of Vixen Tor was said to lure travellers into Vixen Tor bog. In recent years it has become the subject of a dispute between the landowner and ramblers over the right of access.
