Hemerdon Ball
30/12/1934. Clumps of trees on a prominent hilltop are not unusual in the border country of Dartmoor. Remnants of ancient woodlands or more probably in this case deliberately planted. The view from Hemerdon Ball overlooks the rapidly developing town of Plympton. Hemerdon ball clump was destroyed by fire in about 1947. It was replanted and once again appears as a clump on the skyline. It lies within the Woollcombe estate.
