The River Lyd and Valley

25/09/1944 Looking down Doetor Brook, the bridge in the foreground is on the track to Doe Tor Farm (abandoned 1955). On the other side of the Lyd Valley a track runs up from the site of Wheal Mary Emma active ca.1860 to Higher Down and on to the Dartmoor Inn.
