Boringdon Plympton
Boringdon Hall is set in extensive gardens and grounds of seven acres,close to the edge of Dartmoor, just five miles from Plymouth. It is a Grade I listed Elizabethan manor house steeped in history and past visitors have included Sir Walter Raleigh, Sir Francis Drake and Queen Elizabeth I. This gateway was removed at some point and taken to Fardel house at Cornwood. Fardel was a Saxon estate and a Domesday manor. The house is a medieval mansion of 15th to 16th century date, with a well-preserved chapel.
