The Eastern Beacon Rocks on Ugborough Moor

The Eastern Beacon Rocks on Ugborough Moor

Taken on 18 August 1942 of the Eastern Beacon rocks or also known as Ugborough Beacon, on Ugborough Moor on the southern edge of Dartmoor. Three distinct rock piles remain of a once larger tor. There is a fine view from here of South Devon and into Cornwall, although there remains differing views as to whether this point was ever used as a beacon fire point.
