Brisworthy circle
This photograph was taken in 1914 of Brisworthy stone circle. The stone circle has a diameter of 79 ft. The term 'stone circle' has been applied to a specific class of antiquites in order to distinguish them from the circles associated with prehistoric dwellings and earth and stone barrows. They are larger than any hut circle and they are assumed to have some religious or ceremonial significance.
