A Devonshire Association Excursion to Shilstone Farm
11/06/1947 This is also known as Higher Shilstone Farm, one of the more important vernacular buildings on Dartmoor, a traditional longhouse. There are many well preserved features still evident today including a fine trough and lipstone at the rear of the house where the leated water from Forder Brook still spouts. This photograph is taken on a day's visit by members of the Devonshire Association.
