Arms Tor

Arms Tor looks down on Lydford village from its height of 1,500 feet. In the 1860s the owner of Arms Tor and its neighbouring tors was approached by Foggintor Quarry with a request to start granite quarrying there. Luckily he turned down their offer, or Arms Tor might look quite different today. The photograph was taken on 1/08/1937.
