Horse Pit (Hospit) Cross
07-1947. The cross has the letters 0 (Okehampton), N (Newton Abbot), M (Moretonhampstead) and B (Bovey Tracey) carved on the ends of the 2 arms and 2 faces, so was used as a crossroads indicator. Behind the cross is the the old county finger post sign, painted in black and white. The iron railings are typical of fencing used locally at that time.
