Bedford Hotel, Tavistock
Tavistock owes much of its development to the dynasty of the Earls and Dukes of Bedford. In particular the seventh Duke of Bedford, Francis, built many of the buildings in the 1860's at the centre of Tavistock still seen today. This is looking across Bedford Square at the rear is a statue to the seventh Duke across to the Bedford Hotel and estate office (lower building in the foreground) where many decisions were made concerning the future of the town. This is an example of stereoscopic photography.
