RAF Harrowbeer

Before the airfield was constructed a road ran due north over Roborough Down from the Victoria Jubilee Water Fountain, east of Roborough Rock, to the Leg of Mutton public house. The road was demolished to allow the construction of the runways. In this photograph,with the Leg of Mutton behind the photographer's back, the difference in the colour of the vegetation clearly shows the old route leading towards the Jubilee Fountain.
