RAF Harrowbeer
A patterned brick from the corner of the camouflage paint store. Buildings were painted with brown and green shadow shading to make them less conspicuous. Bold lines were painted on the roofs and sides of hangars to break up the outline. The storage buildings on the small arms and ammunition site, just outside the airfield perimeter, may have been painted to look like a small farmyard. At many airfields, e.g. Exeter, the ground and runways were painted to resemble the fields pattern of farmland. I am not sure whether this was done at Harrowbeer. Any information would be welcome.
