RAF Harrowbeer

This asphalt track runs parallel and adjacent to the threshhold of runway 35. It turns to the right in the scrub to join the runway. In the wartime years the scrub would have been cleared from the field. The runway caravan could park on this track. Pilots would hold just short of a runway to complete final checks and await a green light from the caravan before turning on to the runway for take off. Photograph taken July 2001.
