RAF Harrowbeer

This later watch office or control tower, was of permanent brick construction and faced east to cover most of the runway areas.On the ground floor at the front was the watch office, behind which lay a forecast room, teleprinter room and rest room. On the first floor at the front was the plotting room (control room) with all the air traffic control equipment. Behind was the signals office and rest rooms. A small room of the roof gave a view of the whole airfield. In the photograph, looking south, the first dispersal bays of the western perimeter can be seen in front of the trees.
