RAF Harrowbeer
Before the airfield was constructed a road ran due north over Roborough Down from the Victoria Jubilee Water Fountain, east of Roborough Rock, to the Leg of Mutton public house. The road was demolished to allow the construction of the runways. In this photograph, taken from the eastern perimeter track, the difference in the colour of the vegetation clearly shows the old route leading straight to the Leg of Mutton. Some of the demolition rubble lies in the foreground. Photograph taken July 2001.
