The Longstone on Chagford Common, part of the Shoveldon Complex of Bronze Age settlements, could be 3,500 years old. It is the fourth tallest menhir on the moor at 3.1 meters. It was noted in the 1240 perambulation of the moor as marking the edge of the royal forest.
