Upper Blowing House - River Yealm
Blowing houses were evolving on Dartmoor in the 14th century to serve the tin mining industry. There are 2 blowing house remains in close proximity of the Yealm steps on the upper reaches of the river Yealm. These were one of the first ever to be properly examined by the Devonshire Association in 1863. Both have 2 well preserved mould stones.
