Grim's Grave 1940s- 1950s

Grim's Grave is a kistvaen on the banks of Langcombe Brook a tributary of the River Plym one of Dartmoor's major rivers. The grave has a retaining circle of 28 feet in diameter of outward leaning stones and the chamber is well perserved. One definition of a kistvaen is a stone coffin, usually pre-Christian, derived from the Celtic cist (chest) and maen(stone).
