Black Tor Beare is located between Black Tor and the West Okement River. The word "beare" means a wood, making this the Black Tor wood or forest. It is a Forest Nature Reserve and is made up of ancient dwarf oaks, similar to those found in Wistman's Wood and Piles Copse.
