Approaching the head of the Yealm

The head of the Yealm stands in wild desolate country. It is wide and flat, marshy and lies under the long line of Outer Stallmoor and backed by Langcombe Head. It stands at 1,450 ft and is the smallest of Dartmoor's main rivers.
