Safety on Ten Tors is of paramount importance. Radio communications between the Tor Parties, support helicopters and Dartmoor Rescue Group, and the Operations Room in Okehampton Camp is essential. In this case the Land Rover is using VHF radios with their range extended by 27 foot masts spread apart to minimise interference on different radio frequencies.
