Cranmere Pool is the centre of the northern moor, the place from which many rivers starts It has also been marked since 1905 with a letter box, where people can leave a postcard for the next person to post and collect a stamp. Collecting the stamps has become a very popular hobby on Dartmoor with hundreds of boxes. In the background can be seen Yes tor one of the highest points of the northern moor.
