Though given the caption "Heath Stone" by Boddy this is not stone that appears in other photographs of his, see links. This is actually what is known as the "D Stone" which is a tall shaped pillar standing on top of Assycombe Hill 25 metres outside the Fernworthy Plantation. The significance of the inscribed "D" is not known.
