This is of a postcard dated 1905 of Cranmere Pool where the first letter box was ever placed. There are now hundreds of letterboxes on Dartmoor and it had become a very popular hobby to collect the stamps. Cranmere Pool is thought of as the centre of the northern moor and is the point from which many rivers start.
