River Yealm near head

The River Yealm rises on the southern edge of Dartmoor and flows in a north to south direction. The floor of the upper reach has been pitted, trenched and streamed exhaustively by tin miners. Yealm head itself is wide and flat. The Yealm flows from marshy springs below the edge of the peat, a very solitary place.
