Meldon Dan on the West Okement river was started in 1970 and completed in 1972. There is a circular walk all round the water, where there is a dry channel of a disused leat. The reservoir's western end is dominated by Corn Ridge. It has two small outcrops known as Branscombe's Loaf and Cheese.
