“ First established in June 1973 under boulder on West Bank of river. Subsequently removed to the present site a month later as original site is unsatisfactory. Erosion of the bank alone this box may in time call for another situation to be found, but any change will be well advertised and passed along from one hiker to another. I see no reason to move it for some while yet, but the summer of 1979 is not ruled out.
