James Nutcombe Gould

James Nutcombe Gould founded "The Barn Owls" in 1879. "The Barn Owls" were the first amateur dramatics group in Lustleigh and performed at the Reverend Frederic Ensor's barn at The Manor. James Nutcombe Gould lived with his large family at Knowle. He was a friend of the famous actor Henry Irving and was a talented amateur actor.
